It all started in my kitchen in Bondi, Australia one sunny afternoon...

Hi, I'm Leah — and Bondi Clear started because of my own skin.

I was diagnosed with rosacea in 2019 after years of unexplained redness, flare-ups, and burning sensations that made my skin feel anything but calm. I was constantly trying to cover it with makeup, frustrated and self-conscious. Getting a diagnosis was a relief — but finding treatment that actually worked?

After my diagnosis in 2019 I went through a process to heal my skin which included prescription topical creams, antibiotics, BBL laser - they helped me personally, but I was told by a dermatologist that "flare ups" would likely continue and to use serums to reduce them where possible.

That was the hard part. Over the years I tried some serums that worked better than others, but I also noticed many were padded with extreme amounts of plastic (to make the product look bigger than it actually was in reality). This was disappointing for me and also our environment.

At the end of 2024, after a few months of using nothing at all, the redness came back - lumps and bumps, and my skin felt dry, I decided to go back to basics. I started researching plant-based oils and extracts that could calm inflammation, strengthen the skin barrier, and restore balance — not just for rosacea, but for overall skin health and also things like fine lines.

That’s how the first version of my serum came to life — and after two weeks of using it, my skin was visibly clearer, calmer, and more hydrated. Fine lines softened, texture smoothed out, and that reactive redness finally started to fade.
